A very warm thank you to TSV Bayer Leverkusen for organizing this event. The under 17 age group took the opportunity to battle their skills.
The line up of clubs competing for the title was large. Leverkusen and SUA Witten battleing for the top positions. Leverkusen won the female and SUA Witten the male competition. Thrilling judo beng shown by both clubs.
Judo is, not only for the casual spectator, a demanding sport to practise and watch. Having come back from Paris U20 WM competition where the new rules were in practise (leggrabbing etc.) and seeing a U17 competition with the "old" rules, my hope is that the rule changes will trickle down to the youth category. It makes it more enjoyable to watch.
